| Dear Christopher, |

We hope that 2008 finds all of you in good health and good spirits. As the clock ticks away and we move closer to spring, I'm sure all of you are itching to get out and enjoy and play in the warmer weather. This is the first issue of our 2008 disKRAZE so we'd like to share with you some exciting bits of news. All of the Ultimate and Disc Golf major events are scheduled and have their websites up and running. We have listed them under The Majors on the left, for you to easily access their sites and learn more. |

| 30+ Years of Disc Sports in Ontario |
This year, disKRAZE has a special mission! We are looking to document 30+ years of disc sports in Ontario. We're creating an online magazine to not only save costs, but to help reduce our carbon footprint. A printed copy will, however, be available for a fee for anyone who wishes. This issue will concentrate on telling a story... a story of individuals and how they got started, whether they were playing Disc Golf, Ultimate or other disc sport derivatives. We will pay for articles and pictures in an effort to motivate and take delivery. Our goal is to publish this in before the year end. This endeavor will seek to inform and to entertain as we follow the trail blazed by many in pursuit of a pastime we all love..throwing a disc! Click the picture above to learn more!. |
| RADD Tour 2008 |
Here we go again! Starting on April 14th, ODSA will again embark on the 2008 leg of the RADD Tour. We'll be targeting grades 7 & 8 elementary students and grades 9 & 10 secondary students. Our aim is to reach 175 schools and provide hands on instruction to approximately 12,000 students over the course of a 7-week period. To help us accomplish this, we've partnered with TUC and OCUA which will run concurrent programs for 5 weeks from April 28th to May 30th. If you, or anyone you know, would like to expose students to Ultimate and/or Disc Golf, pass along our contact info or just let us know and we'll be happy to contact them. To learn more about the program, click the logo above. To arrange for a school visit, contact ed@ondisc.org |
| ODSA Hires Full-time Executive Director |
In the November issue of disKRAZE, the ODSA was seeking to hire an Executive Director. Well, it's sort of old news, but it's still news. The ODSA hired Christopher Lowcock on January 28th as the new ED. To read the press release issued on January 31st, click the ODSA logo to the right.

Finally we are pleased to welcome two new groups as members so far this year. On the Disc Golf scene we welcome Woodstock Disc Golf Collective, and on the Ultimate front, we are excited to welcome Hamilton Ultimate Club. With these two new member clubs, plus many new members from the expansion of existing member clubs, we are proud to announce that we have grown to an awesome 11,250 members! This is an incredible accomplishment for an organization which is only in its 3rd year - ODSA is truly flying to new heights!
Sincerely,
|
